Heritage Christian School - A Ministry of our Church Since 1991
Our Christian Day School was started in 1991. We provide private, religious education for our church families and those who are of like faith. We currently have 1st - 12th grades available. Kindergarten and 1st grade are taught traditionally and separately using the ABeka Curriculum. 2nd-12th grades primarily use the ACE Curriculum in the Learning Center format. The Lord has provided us with a degreed, qualified, and loving staff for all these years. Our students are tested with the Iowa Assessments™ Test every other year. (This is the same test used by thousands of public school districts around the country.) Our students routinely average one-half to one full grade level higher than the national norms.
We understand that our type of school is not for everyone. Because of our small size and limited facilities, there are some things that we cannot provide; however, when it comes to providing a solid academic education in a controlled Christian environment, we strive for excellence each and every year.
New students will be diagnostically tested and placed at the academic level revealed by the tests. Our system gives us the flexibility to help a slow student, or a student that is under level, to fill in the "learning gaps" and progress toward his proper academic grade. It also allows us the freedom to let a student who is above average learn faster than the norm and accomplish more work than required, possibly gaining "Honors" status, and potentially even earning college credit while still in high school.
We are grateful to the Lord for His watchcare over this vital ministry of our church. We are in our thirty-first year and anticipate His provision and protection again this year.
